Lose 100 Pounds with no Exercise with the Slow Carb Diet


There are so many diets out there and Tim Ferriss has tried so many of them, out of all the ones he tried, the Slow Carb Diet (SCD)  is one of his favorites. The author released a popular book, the 4-Hour Body in which he claimed he lost 25 pounds of fat within six weeks.



What is the Slow Carb Diet?

The SCD is based on eating foods that contain low glycemic index (GI). The glycemic index in certain type of foods have the ability to increase the amount of glucose in the blood. GI is responsible for insulin and blood sugar, which also works with overeating and hunger. . Having too much glucose in the body can increase ones risk for various diseases, including diabetes.
The slow carb diet can be summarized quite easily: it is the kind of diet where you eliminate starchy foods and anything that is sweet. You are allowed to eat legumes, lean protein, and vegetables.


Rules to Follow in Slow Carb Diet

There are simple rules, which you should learn to stick to in this diet:
Don’t eat “white” carbs. These include all kinds of bread, cereal, potatoes, rice (even the brown variety), pasta, fried foods that have breading mix, tortillas, and anything white. These foods, according to the 4-Hour Body, can make you fat. But another good reason is that these white carbs contain chlorine dioxide, a chemical that bleaches flour and can produce alloxan when combined with residual protein in most foods. Alloxan can induce diabetes as tested in lab rats.
Limit what you eat. There are so many different product at the grocery store, make sure to pick your food wisely to lose weight. Choose three or four foods in the SCD list and eat them repeatedly.



Some of the allowed foods in SCD are:

  • Chicken breast or thigh
  • Pork
  • Grass-fed beef
  • Lentils
  • Red beans
  • Spinach
  • Sauerkraut
  • Asparagus

Say no to caloric drinks. Make sure to drink water over caloric drinks, you can also indulge in coffee and tea – both should be unsweetened. If you can’t take the taste, add no more than two tablespoons of cream or use cinnamon instead. Don’t drink any kinds of milk, fruit juice, and soda. You can drink diet coke, but limit to 16 ounces daily. Slow Carb? It just works.
Although the slow carb diet may seem too strict for some people, you can actually take one day off every week. During the cheat day, the author actually recommends you eat junk from morning till night to lose weight.
